Let's recap 2007, shall we?
Taking a cue from Mr. Henry, Roger was working like a dog on a new solo project for Taz DiGregorio. You may know Taz from his gig as the only original member (besides Charlie, of course) in the Charlie Daniels Band. This project has reunited Roger with his childhood hometown guitar hero, John Presutti.
Colorblind has finished mixing and mastering (with Jeff Lipton at Peerless) their incredible new CD, Beneath the Surface. Look for a Summer '08 release.
She may be no stranger to Worcester, but Toronto's Danella Hocevar (former lead singer for An April March) has been flying into town here and there to start work on what is turning out to be a really incredible new solo project. You can check out some of the tunes on her myspace page as well.
Seana Carmody has finished her CD, Not Foolin' You. At the moment, it's available online through her Myspace page.
Singer/songwriter Zack Borer wrapped up his new CD, Home. We wish him lots of luck as he makes NYC his new home... once again.
Castine came in to do a 3-song project of their tight and angular indie rock. They named the CD Mr. Henry's Walk in honor of our trusty co-producer. We have seen a lot of promise in these guys, since their first incarnation, Everything Aside, recorded at Tremolo five years ago.
We've been hearing great feedback from the recent releases from Carry the Zero and Craig. Craig's singer, Sam James, has been back to the Lounge doing some new tracks for his solo project.
Denis Coughlin's CD, Nocturnal Pop Journal not only has one of the coolest titles in recent memory, but is one of our favorite CD projects we're done at Tremolo Lounge. He's always a lot of fun to work with and his knack for great and slightly quirky pop songcraft is incredible.
Gutta has finished mixing 6 songs for their next CD, and started another batch. Moonlighting Gutta guitarist Brooks Milgate (who also plays with Boston's The Luxury) has a great piano/drums pop duo with Alex Sacco, and they're cryptically called Hey Now... Morris Fader. They were recently in the Lounge to mix their new CD, "Bang the Bass, Turn Up the Treble" which they recorded themselves.
This seems to be a trend, as bluesy/psychedelic rockers The Howl had Roger mix their tracks as well. The Howl recorded new arrangements of classic Howlin' Wolf songs on an 8-track machine at their rehearsal space.
Jubilee Gardens came in to mix their latest CD, The Wheel. Another example of truly amazing talent coming from the Worcester area.
Boston indie rockers The Broken River Prophet finished up their their new CD. Some very cool noisy guitar stuff from this band which seems to have a constantly rotating stable of bandmembers.
Mike O'Connell has been back into the studio, after many years since his last CD (done here in 2002). We listened to some unfinished gems from long ago and did some quick mixes. He also started laying down basics for a few new tunes.
Lusting Kay is currently on deck to mix the new CD project that we started last summer.
